This sweet abstract trompe l'oeil is an homage to Barnet Newman's 'zips', but here I foucus on my own experiments with a 9 x 2" black painted wood strip as a subject. In ways, this work bridges interest in Newman (Uriel) and coincides with the 'synthetic' series of illusions of illusions, as it includes a line of shadow on the left edge of the panel.
