In 1994, my contribution to a benefit 'bookmarks' auction for WhiteWalls (magazive, Chicago) was to gather out from my own collected books, many retained scraps of paper and clippings that were in fact used over many years as bookmarks. I prepared an inventory on paper, and was motivated to reproduce the inventory as a painting, to make the transaction, the creative act tangible as an object.

Over the years I contributed several other works to the bookmarks auctions.
